How does Cavileo determine a risk score?
+
Cavileo combines automated monitoring of public signals with human analyst review. Our scoring model evaluates patterns across professional networks, social media activity, and other public data sources that correlate with overemployment behavior — things like simultaneous job titles, inconsistent location signals, and activity patterns inconsistent with a single full-time role. Each employee record receives a score from 0–100, where higher scores indicate greater likelihood of overemployment. Scores are reviewed and updated on a regular cycle by trained Cavileo analysts.
Is this legal? Can I do this without telling my employees?
+
Monitoring publicly available information about employees is legally permissible in all 50 U.S. states. We don't access private accounts, device activity, or any information that requires consent. That said, many employment attorneys recommend disclosing in your employee handbook that the company monitors public digital activity — a practice that also serves as a deterrent. We recommend you consult your legal counsel, and we're happy to provide methodology documentation to support that conversation.
What happens when we identify a high-risk employee?
+
Cavileo provides the intelligence — what you do with it is entirely in your hands. A high-risk score doesn't mean an employee is definitely overemployed. It means they warrant a closer look. Most HR teams start with a direct performance conversation, a policy review meeting, or a closer look at deliverable quality. Some companies update their employment agreements to explicitly prohibit simultaneous full-time employment. Cavileo can help you build the right internal process for your organization.
How do I get my employees into the system?
+
You can upload a CSV or Excel file with your employee roster, or add employees manually through the portal. The required fields are minimal: name, email, role, and department. We don't need Social Security numbers, salary data, or any sensitive HR data to operate. HRIS integrations with major platforms like Workday, BambooHR, and ADP are on our product roadmap for 2026.
What if we have employees who return to the office full time?
+
Cavileo works for any employee type — fully remote, hybrid, or even in-office. While overemployment is most common among fully remote knowledge workers, hybrid employees are increasingly participating in the OE trend. You can include or exclude employee groups based on your needs, and adjust your roster at any time.
How long does it take to get results?
+
After uploading your roster, initial risk scores are typically available within your first billing cycle. Our analyst team begins reviewing records immediately after onboarding. The first review cycle produces initial scores; subsequent review cycles refine and update those scores based on new signals. High-priority reviews can be requested for specific employees if there is an immediate concern.
